System Structure-

- Implement opportunities for flexible, seamless structures that recognizes learning happening in different contents.
- Operational systematic collaboration between school/board administration and teachers in the classroom.

Resources (Money)-

- Professional development funds be allocated to support the technological advances/integration for learning.
- Strategic plan developed for fund allocation to purchase and service technology,
- Collaborate to provide service (training networking required for 21st century)
- To reduce the need for money ensure clients are permitted to access all public domains with their own equipment (iphones, iPods, netbooks, laptops)
- Reconstruct budgest with view to incorporate technology into instruction and re purposing existing monies. e.q. from textbooks to elearning resources.
- Explore models for cost-sharing, allocation of provincial, regional funds to ensure equitable access.
- Give "them" (not necessarily to the loudest) resource.
- Leverage. I.e. open source.

- To encourage 21st century teaching and learning lets have release time or resource days for focus on a school based project that utilizes technology.
- This may include CRT`s, staff collaboration, webinars, etc. Abel...

- Ensure all teachers and students have devices and connectivity,
- A plan for purposeful enhancement of student learning through technology.

Hardware Barriers-

- Eliminating equity barrier by use of student technology will add to greater collaboration.
- Entices learning relationship between teacher and learner.
- Professional learning should include critical filter for electronic tools.

- Capacity building
- Everyone learning.
- To make broader connection by bringing all stakeholders to the table. eg. collaboratively working with larger community.
- Risk free
- Distribute leadership.
- Give up control.
- Mechanisms to not exist compartments

- Greater emphasis on the appropriate use of technology.

- Integrate PD using technology in content-based situations/contexts (i.e. history etc,)
- Include students in teacher professional development approaches.
- Model
- Use of process sheets
- Teachers time to collaborate/plan/mentor/partner and learn on a regular basis.
- Teachers need access to having to facilitate them learning in a varity of format on an ongoing base. eg- digital literacy coaches.
- This will lead to a culture shift.
- Self directed, not board dictated
- PD with teachers (in similar subjects)
- Peer to peer PD
- With out any pressure.

- Increased in-home ongoing professional development for teachers in the areas of:
A) how to use technology effectively
B) Why it is pedagogically important
C) Using students expertise as a resource to support teachers in learning new technological skills.
- Changes to provincial funding formula to allow for flexibility in the allocation of resources (ie. using textbook dollars for IT)

- Establishing provincial policy that commits to integrating technology throughout the system and establish connections and best practices in all curriculum/system areas.
- Boards then develop an environment that empowers teachers and students to develop their own relevant learning and skills through PD infrastructure and local policy.
- Mandatory princ. involvement in collaborative learning.
- Build time for collaborating into teacher timetables.
- Providing the hardware allows for virtual access to professional resource people and resources.

System Modifications-

- Restructuring assessment to endure 21st century learning.
- Allow flexible scheduling for learning independent of time, place, and space at all levels.
- Accountability for use of technology in order to improve learning.
